Convenience is king, and shopping for cannabis is no different. What are your options when you’re in the middle of the party and need a few more cannabis drinks dropped at your door? Fortunately, some states have cannabis delivery, but not everyone has this option yet. It’s not as simple as legalization.
Some states draw the line at infused beverages. In other states, you can order delivery, but you can’t shop in a brick-and-mortar establishment. We know. It can be a little confusing. So, is you’re wondering how to get cannabis drinks delivered to your home, read on to find out all the details.
Fourteen states allow for cannabis delivery. If you live in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, or Vermont, you can get cannabis delivered to your home. However, it’s not a free for all. For example, east coasters living in New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont can’t order THC drinks for delivery.
Several states have legalized cannabis and the sale of products within that state. Cannabis legalization is divided into two main categories: medical marijuana and adult-use recreational marijuana.
Each state makes its own laws about what you can and cannot create. For example, despite selling cannabis or edibles, not all states have legalized THC drinks. Currently, 11 states allow for recreational THC beverages, and four states allow medical THC beverages.

Currently, Arkansas has a medical marijuana program but not adult-use recreational. So, much like Arizona, you can get cannabis drinks delivered to your home, but only with a valid medical marijuana card. Deliveries come directly from the dispensary, and you can shop and pay online.
Marijuana delivery services are a big thing in California. Eaze was the first cannabis delivery company in California, though many more have followed in their footsteps. They are an independent company partnering with dispensaries to bring cannabis to your door. However, many dispensaries also offer their own delivery services. Companies like Grassdoor and Ginger work directly with brands to bypass the dispensary channel for direct-to-consumer delivery. And finally, you can subscribe to product boxes like Nugg Club and receive a monthly box of curated cannabis goodies, often including THC beverages.
Colorado fought a long battle to approve recreational cannabis delivery. For a long time, only medical marijuana patients could get their cannabis delivered (with proof of state license), but in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Colorado loosened up its laws. In February of 2021, they assigned their first recreational delivery license to the Colorado Harvest Co. based in Denver. Since then, several more have gained licensure to deliver.

Massachusetts has both medical and recreational marijuana programs and allows for the sale of THC beverages. Only medical marijuana cardholders could choose delivery services for years, but recent regulatory changes opened up delivery options for recreational consumers. Now, adults can shop on e-commerce sites like KindRun and select from a wide range of products for delivery. KindRun is a cashless business, so you can pay online, and your order will be delivered directly to your door. However, Massachusetts only allows for residential deliveries, so you can’t get your cannabis at work or at your hotel.
Michigan legalized delivery to medical marijuana cardholders years before they legalized but was quick to update delivery laws once votes legalized recreational use. However, some municipalities within the state ban all cannabis use, so residents in these areas cannot order delivery. While it wouldn’t necessarily be illegal to order cannabis from another region, it’s challenging to find a dispensary that will offer these services.
Both medical and recreational cannabis consumers can select delivery. Not all dispensaries offer this service, but they must employ the delivery staff if they do. There are no third-party services allowed in Nevada yet. If you are visiting Las Vegas and staying on the strip, you won’t be able to get hotel delivery. Only home residences can have cannabis delivered.
Medical patients have been ordering cannabis delivery for years in New Mexico. Although voters legalized recreational cannabis in 2021, there are currently no delivery options for rec users just yet. Currently, dispensaries and cannabis brands are applying for delivery licenses in advance of new regulations.
Anyone over 21 can get a job as a cannabis delivery driver in Oregon. The dispensaries may hire their own delivery staff, but some services partner with dispensaries to manage their deliveries. Dutchie is a popular choice for many Oregonians. Both medical and recreational users may choose delivery, but you can only have cannabis delivered to a residence. That residence must be in the same city as the dispensary they ordered from. No hotels or “transient dwellings” and delivery is only available from 8 am to 9 pm.
